Nestabilities

This week's challenge on the Glue, Scissors, Paper blog is to create a Thanksgiving day card using Nestabilities die cuts or Stampin' Up!'s Top Note die cut or a similar cut from a Cricut cartridge. I tried Nestabilities for the first time and it was truly a challenge! The card I made has a base that I created by weaving pattered paper with the cardstock. The sentiment is stamped on a rectangle that I cut using the Nestabilities scalloped rectangle die cut. Hop on over to GSP's blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with.

Happy Halloween - 12 Tags!

If you haven't guessed already, I'm a Tim Holtz fan. His Halloween tags and 12 Tags of Christmas inspired me to create 12 Tags of Halloween using some wonderful paper from the Spider's Web line from My Mind's Eye, Ranger distress ink, Stickles, grunge board, fragments and Crackle Paint. Please check out the other wonderful projects made with My Mind's Eye paper at the Glue, Scissors, Paper challenge blog! Happy Halloween!

An Early Winter

This week's challenge on the Glue, Scissors, Paper blog is to create a layout, card or altered item with a winter wonderland theme. What's more fun in the snowy winter than making a snowman? But, you have to have snow right? So, let it snow! Here is a wooden plaque I bought at the dollar store that I altered with a let it snow them. I used Graphic 45's Christmas Past paper and the Cricut's A Child's Year, Accent Essentials and Home Decor cartridges.

I'm Seeing Stars

I just completed two projects for my LSS. They gave me some beautiful new paper from SEI and a cute mini album kit by Nikki Sivils to play with. I used the SEI paper to make an adorable star book album. This album is fun to make and is really cute on display. I can't wait to make another one of these. I found the instructions for the album here. It's super easy and fun to make.

A Class, a Walk and a Challenge

The Main Event

This past weekend, I taught my second album class at Scrap Chic Boutique. The album design is intended for an event that you've taken way too many pictures of and you just don't know where to start as far as how to capture the memories. Most of the layouts are mulit-photo and the design incorporates a couple of pages of 4x6 photo holders. The patterned paper used throughout the album is by Scenic Route. Here are photos of a few pages from the album:

AIDS Walk Success

The AIDS Walk had a wonderful turn out. It was so cold but it was still a beautiful day. I am so happy that my family and friends were able to support me and help me reach my fundraising goal of $5,000! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Until there is a cure...

Inspirational Challenge

This week's challenge on the Glue, Scissors, Paper
blog is to create a project with a Fall theme. I love this season. I grew up in sunny California where the seasons don't change. When I went to school in DC, that was the first time I had ever really experienced the true beauty of Fall. I can't wait to see everyone's projects. Also, remember that this month's drawing prize is some Stampin' Up goodies from our design team diva Lisa Lisa. Your name is entered into the drawing each time you participate in a challence this month. So come on over and get inspired and share your creativity!

Here are the layout and card I made. I used Bazzill cardstock, Making Memories Autumn Splendor and Little Yellow Bicycle embellies:

Genuine Kindness

In the paper crafting world we use the term RAK (random act of kindness) very loosely and very often. It could mean a prize for a contest or a giveaway for an achievement. However, there are very rare instances of a true random act of kindness. I recently received a true RAK from my friend Barbara (aka ImBuggin) from the Cricut message board. I'm participating in the AIDS Walk Atlanta this weekend and Barbara made me a beautiful card with the AIDS Walk Atlanta theme, "Every Life Deserves Hope" check out the pic below. She used an adorable stamp with a cute girl with the red awareness ribbon and embellished the card with some gorgeous red velvet ribbon. But what made my mouth drop open was the beautiful sterling silver and Swarovski crystal pendant she made. It's gorgeous and the picture doesn't do it justice. It's a beautiful heart shaped pendant with a red awareness ribbon. I am humbled by her kindness and I'm trying to figure out a way to pay it forward.
How pretty is that?! Thank you Barbara!!!
